I Can't Quite Believe It! - North Wales Family Photographer

Eek! I can’t quite believe it, but as of 1pm today, I can call myself an Award Winning Photographer! I am beyond thrilled, very shocked, and also quite proud. Because if you know me in person, you’ll know that I doubt myself a lot. Every day. Every time I hit the ‘send’ button to deliver a client’s gallery, I doubt myself. Have I done a good enough job? Will they like the photos? Will they be glad they picked me? And all the lovely things my clients say about the photos I deliver do calm the nerves, but today was confirmation from a panel of experts that I can in fact take photos. Every month, the Guild of Photographers (a national organisation) run their ‘Image of the Month’ competition, and a few worthy entries are awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold. Well this month, I was awarded 3 Bronze Awards, and I couldn’t be happier!

Lots of other photographers who win awards actually create the images they submit especially for competitions. I wish I had the time! But as a mum to a bright little 3 year old, I definitely don’t have time to be shooting for anyone but my clients and occasionally myself and my family. So all the images I’ve submitted have been from real photoshoots, with real people, real familes, real clients with no modelling experience. The photos I’ve won my awards for have been delivered to real clients with no extra editing required. I know I’m not the cheapest North Wales photographer - I don’t claim to be nor do I want to be - but I think the fact that images I’ve delivered to real clients have now won awards speaks of the value of my work and my commitment to creating memories for your family. The attention I pay to the little details means that I do spend a while on each gallery, editing them to be the best they can be so that you’ll be proud to have them hanging on your walls.
